OK, So I know this is way late but here is a taste of what the Rubicon was like. We first camped at Loon Lake where we parked our trucks and camped. We then started out in a huge Granite bowl. From there we started the trail. The trail reminded me of Lower Helldorado. The only difference is that it was the entire trail. Non stop rocks for 15 miles(no kidding). It was a paradise. The rock where only part of it. The views and scenery were amazing. We wheeled all day stoping at one point where Bob blew out his entire rearend(sticky tires & 44 axles are not a match). We finally got to my high light of the trip THE LITTLE SLUICE. This is about 50 yards of pure hell. I f-ing loved it. VW sized rocks that at one point had me on my side but some how got out of it. We then camped at Spider Lake. We cooked a great meal and had some beers and went to bed. We then woke up ate breakfast, and started wheeling on our way out. All I can say is what a trip. I highly recomend we plan a trip back to The Rubicon as soon as we can just for the simple reason that they are trying to close this beautiful trail. Also on that note please keep up to date on trail closers in our area and around the country. I know that Coyote Canyon is under closer and now I have run it I need to fight for it to keep it open. So keep aleast 3 on the ground and we will talk after the new year. Happy holidays and may your families be healthy, close, and you love them alot. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
Later.........
